KENNEDY, KNOX, AND SHELDON TRAVELING FELLOWSHIPS FOR DISSERTATION OR POST-GRADUATE RESEARCH

The Kennedy, Knox and Sheldon Traveling Fellowships, as they are collectively known, support a full academic year (September-June) of research or study abroad. The competition is open to full-time Harvard graduate/doctoral students or current students who will graduate from one of Harvard’s professional schools by May 2024.

Fellowship recipients are required to live at their research or study destinations for the length of the academic year. The fellowships are not available to support project periods of less than a full academic year.

The terms of the different fellowships stipulate the following:

Sinclair Kennedy Fellowships

Kennedy Fellowships support research at destinations outside of the United States. Students enrolling at foreign universities are not eligible for these funds.

Frank Knox Memorial Fellowships

Knox Fellowships support U.S. citizens undertaking research and/or study in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or the United Kingdom.

Frederick Sheldon Fellowships

Sheldon Fellowships support research, study and/or travel abroad, or, for exceptional projects, within the United States (although not at Harvard University or in the Boston area).
